Best of luck to Emily Gustafson and Dance On These Irons and Liz Lucarelli and Red Rockin Rebel.  Both ladies will be making their Quarter Horse show circuit debut in the Youth Hunter Under Saddle and Equitation classes.  Looking forward to a lot of fun!
Gilliam Quarter Horses is now offering online training!  Sign up for weekly sessions with Casi, where you will upload videos of your horse and yourself. Casi will then speak exclusively with you over the phone, Skype, etc, and guide you through an individualized training program to meet your needs.  These sessions can also go along with regular haul-in session, or when Casi is hired as your trainer just at horse shows.  They can also be used for those people who used to fly in to train with Casi.  Now you have the alternative of training long-distance with a program designed just for you!

October, 2015
Casi has been concentrating on raising her six year-old twins and 16 year-old son and has been showing a little less this year, as everyone knows family must come first! The big guy on the road this year has been DANCE ON THESE IRONS, a four year-old, 17.3 hand brown gelding by These Irons Are Hot.  By Casi's choice, "Mike" remained in the same training program he has been in all his life, with Trish Yamber in Roberta, GA.  In the few southern shows Casi flew to and showed Mike in, the pair qualified for the 2015 AQHA Open World, and will be presented in the Level 2 Jr. Hunter Under Saddle on November 10th.

Congress is a wrap, and the Junior and Maturity rides went very well.  Bring on Oklahoma City!

May, 2015
Gilliam Quarter Horses welcomes 2011 #1 Green HUS Mare in the Nation, TooSleepyToCertify ("Abby") back into show training.  This exceptional mare by Too Sleepy To Zip and out of MySistersCertifiable will be offered for your consideration, once she is back into show condition. Abby was also 2012 Region Four Open Performance Halter Mare Champion and produced 2014 CONGRESS CHAMPION, The Art of Sleep.

UPDATE:  Abby has been retired as a show horse and is now fully enjoying life as a mamma.  Good girl, Abigale.

Past Update Entries
Welcome back to the show pen, One Fine Detail, and Tara Lawless.  Glad you're doing better, "House"!  The pair made the finals out of 30 elite Ohio horses.  They placed in the top seven in their Youth 14-18 HUS class at the EOQHA Futurity in Columbus, Ohio, after House was injured and off for over a year.  He and I also made the finals in the Green HUS and also placed top 7 out of 25.  Watch for us with One Fine Detail at the upcoming shows!

2014 Update Entries

Congratulations to Mariah Sherer, now the #1 Hunter Under Saddle rider and Congress NYATT representative this year for Northern Ohio Quarter Horse Association.  Great job, Mariah!  Watch for her and George in the show pen on October 19th!

Great Western PA Futurity show, in Harlansburg, PA.  We had four wins and two second's in the Youth and Senior HUS.  Thank you to WPQHA for putting on a pleasant show - it's always fun over there!

Congratulations to Mariah Sherer and WD Good Fellow for once again placing among the elite Top Ten Hunter Under Saddle horses in Ohio and qualifying nationally for the second year in a row for what will be her final Youth World appearance.  Congratulations as well to Rochelle Wilkinson, who also placed among the Top Ten HUS horse and rider combinations in the state of Ohio and for your mid-season rank of #1 in Novice Youth Showmanship for Ohio. We are very proud of both of you!

UPDATE:  Mariah and George were boxed in at the Youth World show, and she had to break, but otherwise, the pair had a fantastic show.  They made the finals in the Youth HUS at at the NSBA World and placed top ten.  Oklahoma is a wrap for the summer.  See you there again for the Open World Show in November!

Click here for full 2014 Youth World photo album.

The show season is off to a great start!  The girls have been hitting the road to the Ohio shows, and holding their own very well.  Both Mariah and Rochelle have enjoyed several class WINS and top five placing's, usually after class splits with finals.  The Youth HUS class numbers in Ohio have been great, averaging 5-6 points.  The girls only show HUS and Eq and Rochelle shows Showmanship as well.  Coming home from these Ohio shows, they have been averaging 10-15 points, which in this stiff Ohio competition, is SUPER!  Keep up the good work!

Home from the March To The Arch horse show in St. Louis.  Congratulations to Rochelle Wilkinson and Detail My Assets on a Circuit Championship in the HUS their first show of the season!  Great job, Rochelle!

Rochelle Wilkinson and Detail My Assets will be joining Gilliam Quarter Horses' show string in 2014. Rochelle and her family purchased this sweet and talented mare through us a few years back, and we are very excited to help them grow together as a competitive QH team!

We have a few openings for training horses this winter and one or two open spots for students on the road in 2014.  Give us a call to discuss training and/or showing in the upcoming year; thank you so much to everyone who made 2013 such a successful journey!

2013 Update Entries
CONGRESS 2013 WRAP-UP:  This year brought Congress placings as high as 6th Place and I lost track of the Finalist Medallions between Mariah Sherer and Haley Hartman. But it's more than that... What needs to be understood is that Mariah Sherer came to me less than two years ago as a 4-H girl running barrels, and said she wanted to go to the Youth World in HUS. She and WD Good Fellow are now #6 in the Nation. Haley Hartman was in the same 4-H boat just two years ago, and this year, with a horse I spent six months looking for her, rocked the Non-Pro 3 YO HUS, finishing 7th overall. These girls have come SO far, so fast, I could not be more proud.

Casi and WD Good Fellow in Sr. Hunter Under Saddle

As #1 in Ohio for Youth Hunter Under Saddle, Mariah Sherer proudly represented the prestigious Ohio QH Association in the NYATT at the Congress.  She and her team brought home 9th Place Medallions overall.  Great job, OQHA!

Great show this weekend at the final WPQHA show in Harlansburg, PA.  We came home with 8 first's and one 2nd, winning the Senior Hunter Under Saddle, Youth Hunter Under Saddle 14-18 and Lead Line.  Great job on a picture-perfect debut, Marlaina Gilliam!

We are home from the Youth World! Congratulations, Mariah Sherer and WD Good Fellow on their debut Youth World appearance under their belts.  The pair earned a bitter-sweet 9th place out of 24 in their split (the top 8 go back to the finals) and finished 40th out of 119 in the Hunt Seat Equitation. We couldn't be more proud of you, Mariah!  Mariah also proudly represented Ohio at the Youth World Show in Hunter Under Saddle and Equitation.  The pair is currently #6 in the Nation in Youth Hunter Under Saddle.

Gilliam Quarter Horses wishes to congratulate Haley Hartman on the purchase of Heza Ivy Invitation, by Invitation Only. Among many accomplishments in 2013, "Lee" placed 13th overall at the 2012 Congress in the 2 YO Western Pleasure, and 4th in the NSBA 2 YO Open Hunter Under Saddle. Best of luck to the two of you in the future!

Congratulations to Tara Lawless on her first All-Around Championship with One Fine Detail.  The pair had wins in Hunter Under Saddle, Equitation and Performance Halter Geldings to earn the all-around title.  Great job!

Congratulations to Mariah Sherer on her colt in the oven!  Her mare,
TooSleepyToCertify is officially carrying a foal by the great Artful Move, for 2014.  Many thanks to Abby Stables, in Sugarcreek, Ohio for getting her in foal.

Congratulations to our clients who had a successful 2012 Congress:

  • Emily Jones and High Joe Silver Away (great rides in all classes)
  • Tara Lawless and Its Skyline Time (Finalist in Youth Hunter Under Saddle)
  • Mariah Sherer and TooSleepyToCertify (great rides in all classes)
  • Haley Hartman and Sweet Little Willy (Finalist in Youth Showmanship)
I am especially proud of our girls this year since this happened to be all of their first Congress, and OQHA also had the highest number of class entries in the history of the Congress this year. Great job to all!

Gilliam Quarter Horses would like to congratulate Tara Lawless on the purchase of One Fine Detail, by One Hot Krymsun and out of the great Fine Details. Among many accomplishments for such a young horse, this 4 YO gelding was the MI Breeders Futurity Champion; Co-Champion Tom Powers Futurity and most recently, 4th at the 2012 Congress in NSBA 3 YO NP HUS Stakes.  In just two seasons of limited showing, “House” has earned over $8,000.  Thank you, Jessica Bailey for selling us this great horse.  Watch for Tara in the Non-Pro and Youth HUS events and Casi Gilliam in the Open HUS events.

Gilliam Quarter Horses would like to congratulate Mariah Sherer on the purchase of WD Good Fellow. Among a long list of accomplishments, this 7 YO gelding was the first Congress Master’s HUS Champion, and then won the Congress 3 YO Open HUS and the NSBA World the following year.  He is the #2 all-time high HUS NSBA money earner and was most recently 5th overall at the 2012 Congress in the Sr. HUS.  Thank you Mark and Judy Zeitler and the Greaves Family for selling us this great horse. Watch for Mariah in the Non-Pro and Youth HUS events and Casi Gilliam in the Open events.
